lymph node outbreak

We love our furries, but sometimes they get ill. Talk about it here.

lymph node outbreak

Postby lenawest » Tue Jul 23, 2013 7:38 pm

I really have never seen this one before. Several of my boys have been swelling up - the lymph nodes in their necks. Never more than one at a time, really. But one after the other. No other signs or symptoms either. Good appetites, good litter boxes, etc. Just looking like chipmunks for a few days each, then back to normal. I asked the vet, because taking each one would be financially impossible. His first comment was lymphoma. But I don't see that. Lymphoma doesn't go in strains and doesn't just go away after a few days. I'm thinking allergies, maybe. Any ideas?

Never heard of this. Abcesses, yes, but not lymph nodes. Were they otherwise off colour in any way?

Nope. Just chipmunk cheeks. Eating, playing, litter box...all fine. Just swollen. Stays that way for a week or so each, then goes away. I wonder if cats get mumps
