Mr Mog Emergency

Postby Mao Mao » Sat Feb 02, 2013 1:50 pm

May I please have your good thoughts for Mr Mog

Image

He's been rushed to the emergency vet with a blocked bladder. It was only six weeks ago that he had the same issue, with a penis blocked with gritty sludge from his bladder. That time, he was catheterised, x-rayed and scanned, had microscopy done etc, and in the end had a course of medication and a change of diet. It looks like exactly the same thing now, except he's being kept in overnight too.

I'm worried sick. He's an absolute cuddle-bug and adorable (and still my little boy, even at eight years old)

Does he have crystals in his urine? Poor boy. Hopefully you've caught it quickly enough.

Sending positive vibes to Mr Mog. Poor kitty, horrible to have something wrong with waterworks.

He was kept in overnight. The vet called late last night to say that the catheter hadn't drained much, if any, during the first few hours. Due to this, the catheter is being kept in for longer than originally planned.

This sounds worse than the bout he had late last year. Back then, he was home later the same day :wah:

Poor baby! When I left him last night, he was still purring and looking for attention from everyone.

The latest update on Mr Mog: He's still being catheterised as he still has some crystals causing a blockage and cannot pee by himself. He also still has a drip in and has not eaten much (although I wouldn't feel that hungry myself, with all of that going on), and he's still receiving pain relief. Unless something else happens, I will next get an update when I call the vet between 9am and 10am tomorrow morning.

Poor Mr. Mog... good thoughts coming his way. He sounds like a lovely tempered puss.
