I miss that from the old forums, so am starting it here with a link to a very entertaining piece in Slate Magazine written by Christopher Hitchens (pace Janey, he wasn't a bad writer) about the late unlamented Chavez:

I will never understand why so many people allow themselves to be duped by such delusional nutbags as Chavez, Hitler, etc. Chavez was a weirdo.

I thought Chavez's poached-eggness was obvious. Toast or no toast. No need for proclamations from beswagged podia. Yo huevo.

It must be catching. I heard on the news that the Venezuelans are going to embalm him and put him in a glass case. Like a latter day Snow White :tong:

He will join the ranks of Mao and Lenin. The company that does the embalming must charge a fortune. Or do they use life like dolls?

Seems like their recent "election" was no suprise as far as the outcome. The more things change, the more they stay the same.....
