Aged almost 18, is Pussycat mellowing?

Postby Billy » Thu Apr 04, 2013 2:42 am

Our revered elder feline Pussycat has a very strong personality, is very stubborn and barely tolerates cat #2 and cat #3, who came to live with us 7 years ago. Recently, PC has been poorly and in weak moments, has allowed cat #2 Selma to groom her. I say "allowed", it could also be "couldn't be bothered to stop her".

Last night, we saw further evidence that PC might be mellowing in her old age (after some fantastically bad behaviour at the vet's on Monday, mind you). She left my partner's lap and walked across the sofa to where Selma was lying, and lay down next to her, close enough to be touching. Now, they have been next to each other on our laps, but that's more to do with both wanting to be on me and neither one backing down. Pussycat has never willingly laid next to the other cats otherwise. The whole thing made me a little teary, I have to admit...

They do get mellower as they get into their sunset years, sounds like PC is still doing things her way!!

What a great shot, like the way the background matches their fur. And I'd be teary also. :wah:
